달이 태양의 일부를 가리는 ‘부분 일식’이 21일 오후 전국에서 관측됐다.  이날 일식은 달이 태양 안에 들어가 태양이 고리 모양처럼 보이는 ‘금환일식’이다. 

아프리카 대부분 지역, 유럽 남동부, 아시아, 미크로네시아 지역에서는 금환일식을 볼 수 있었지만 위도가 높은 한반도에서는 부분일식으로만 관측되었다.
